Hello friends. Happy Saturday!

πŸŽ™οΈ Behind the Breakdown Recap

I love how the Bible doesn't treat history like a movie. We don't just get the highlights. We understand the struggles as well. This week's Bible reading helped us see the people and battles that all went together so David's kingdom could thrive.

πŸ“š Scripture. πŸ’ͺ

(1 Chronicles 19:13) "Be courageous! Let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. May the Lord's will be done."

Observation: David's kingdom gets the wrap for being a sweet, beautiful place where David inherits the throne that was rightfully his. He finally got God's throne, but it was not lovely. It took many battles. We often think something must be wrong because the victories we win are not easy. We are free, but no spiritual ground will be uncontested. Our spiritual enemy will not give up his strongholds willingly. However, we stand in the victory Christ has already won. Therefore, we can declare the same battle cry as Joab. We can have courage and trust God to bring victory in whatever manner He chooses.

Application: Have courage and take the next step toward following God.

Prayer: "Lord, help us never to let fear stop us from following You."

✍️ Quote of the Week That Makes You Think

β€œJust as bank tellers need a thorough knowledge of legitimate currency in order to spot counterfeit bills, so Christians need a thorough knowledge of the Bible in order to spot bogus religious teachings. How grounded are you in the Scriptures? How deep are your theological roots? How capable are you of detecting false teachings?” –Charles Swindoll
