*This weekly newsletter will share about the Bible Breakdown podcast, things about RLC, and my favorite things from around the web. My prayer is it will help you know God better.
Hello friends. Happy Saturday!
As Christmas draws near, we’re reminded that Jesus came not only as a gentle baby in a manger but as the mighty Savior who brings justice and peace. This season highlights God’s heart to protect His people and set things right. Even in a world that feels chaotic, Christmas declares that God is still in control. Let the hope of His power bring comfort to your heart this week.

📚 Scripture. 💪
(Nahum 1:7) “The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him.”
Observation: Nahum is a book announcing God’s justice against the wicked nation of Assyria, a nation that had brutally oppressed God’s people. In the middle of these heavy prophecies, Nahum 1:7 shines like a bright light of comfort. It reminds the people that God’s judgment on evil goes hand-in-hand with His care for His own. While the world around them felt unstable, God promised to be their steady refuge. This verse shows that God can be both powerful and tender at the same time. His nearness is not dependent on circumstances but on His unchanging character.
Application: This verse invites us to run to God when life feels overwhelming rather than trying to stand on our own strength. Trusting Him brings peace no matter what we face.
Prayer: Thank You, Jesus, for being my strong refuge. Draw near to me when trouble comes and remind me I’m never alone. Help me trust Your goodness even when I can’t see what You’re doing.

📣 Sermon/Testimony. Against the Flow (John Lennox)
Dr. Lennox parallels Daniel's time with our day. Just like Daniel was a witness for God in a hostile culture, we are a witness for God in a culture that continues to turn against the Lord. However, Daniel leaves us a powerful testimony to follow.
🤔 Apologetics. Defending Your Faith 101.
This article analyzes how relativism erodes the possibility of moral reform, arguing that if “what is right for you may not be right for someone else,” then meaningful moral change becomes impossible.
✍️ Going Deeper. How to Study the Bible. (Voddie Baucham)
The late Dr. Voddie Baucham teaches on how to study the Bible. Worth adding to your Bible study methods.
📚 Book Recommendation. The Screwtape Letters. (C.S. Lewis)
Lewis presents a creative and convicting look at spiritual warfare through fictional letters written by a senior demon mentoring his nephew. The book exposes the subtle temptations, distractions, and distortions that Christians often overlook. Its brilliance lies in how Lewis reveals the enemy's tactics by flipping the perspective, making readers more aware of their vulnerabilities. What makes it worth reading is that it delivers deep spiritual insight with both humor and seriousness. It remains one of the most eye-opening explorations of temptation and spiritual resilience ever written.
✍️ Quote of the Week That Makes You Think
“To assert that no one can know whether God exists is itself a claim to know something about God—namely, that He cannot be known. That is already more than any atheist or agnostic is entitled to claim.” -Alvin Plantinga
