*This weekly newsletter will share about the Bible Breakdown podcast, things about RLC, and my favorite things from around the web. My prayer is it will help you know God better.
Hello friends. Happy Saturday!
Sometimes, we go through the motions—praying, singing, attending—but our hearts remain distant from God. Hosea 7 reveals the deep grief of a God who sees through empty rituals and longs for genuine repentance. In this issue of The Bible Breakdown Newsletter, we reflect on what it means to return to God with sincerity, not performance. May the resources and encouragement below help us cultivate real, heart-level faith.

📚 Scripture. 💪
(Hosea 7:14) "They do not cry to me from the heart, but they wail upon their beds; for grain and wine they gash themselves; they rebel against me."
Observation: In Hosea 7, God laments Israel's insincere repentance. Despite their outward expressions of sorrow, their hearts remain distant, and their actions are driven by selfish desires rather than genuine contrition. This verse highlights the emptiness of rituals devoid of heartfelt devotion.
Application: Our relationship with God calls for sincerity. It's easy to fall into routines of worship without engaging our hearts. This passage challenges us to examine our faith's authenticity and seek God with genuine passion and humility.
Prayer: Lord, forgive us for the times we've approached You with empty words and hollow rituals. Help us to seek You with sincere hearts, worship You in spirit and truth, and live lives that reflect genuine repentance and devotion. Amen.
