Hello friends. Happy Saturday!

πŸŽ™οΈ Behind the Breakdown Recap

1 Chronicles is a book of the Bible that I have seen coming for a while now. I was not looking forward to the genealogies when I first noticed them. However, as we have been reading them together, I have enjoyed it more than I thought and hope you have too. If not, there’s bad news. There’s more coming.

πŸ“š Scripture. πŸ’ͺ

(1 Chronicles 4:9-10) There was a man named Jabez who was more honorable than any of his brothers. His mother named him Jabez because his birth had been so painful. He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, β€œOh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” And God granted him his request.

Observation: Some true gems are tucked away in all these names and places. One of them is in the prayer of Jabez. If you have been around the Christian book world for the past 20 years, you have probably heard of this prayer. It was turned into a best-selling book years ago. The greatest part of this hidden gem is that this man stands out for his audacious faith. He dared to ask God for something, and the Lord heard His request. We should never be afraid to pray boldly because we trust God’s judgment. If it’s His will, He loves to shower His blessings on His children.

Application: Pray a bold prayer today.

Prayer: Lord, I pray my whole family will be saved, and all the generations after me will be known for their close walk with You!

✍️ Quote of the Week

A skeptic once said to me, 'I don't believe the Bible because it has miracles.' I said, 'Name one.' He said, 'Turning water into wine. Do you believe that?' I said, 'Yeah, it happens all the time.' He said, 'What do you mean?' I said, 'Well, rain goes through the grapevine up into the grape, and the grape turns into wine. All Jesus did was speed it up a little bit.” ― Norman L. Geisler
