Hello friends. Happy Saturday!
Love is easy to admire but difficult to live out consistently. In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul describes love as the defining mark of spiritual maturity. This chapter reminds us that gifts and knowledge mean little without love. Today’s devotion centers on love that reflects Jesus.

📚 Scripture. 💪

(1 Corinthians 13:4–7) Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance

Observation: Love is measured by actions, not intentions. Patience and kindness reveal Christlike maturity. Love resists pride and self-centeredness. True love endures hardship without giving up. God’s love shapes how believers relate to others.

Application: I will practice patient, selfless love as a reflection of Christ’s love for me.

Prayer: Thank You, Jesus, for loving me with patience and grace. Teach me to love others the way You have loved me.

The Origins of Hanukkah: Light in the Darkness
Question: What is Hanukkah, and should I celebrate it? Did Jesus? Answer: Great question. Yes, Jesus would have celebrated Hanukkah. In John 10, it says Jesus celebrated the “Feast of Dedication.” That is Hanukkah! You do not have to celebrate this holiday, but knowing about it can enrich your thankfulness

📚 Book Recommendation. Gilead. (Marilynne Robinson)
Gilead is a quiet, profoundly moving novel written as a letter from an aging pastor to his young son, reflecting on faith, doubt, love, and legacy. Set in a small Iowa town, the story unfolds slowly, inviting readers into the interior life of a thoughtful, weary, and tender-hearted minister. Marilynne Robinson writes with remarkable restraint, allowing ordinary moments to carry profound theological and emotional weight. The novel explores grace not as an abstract doctrine but as something lived out in memory, forgiveness, and everyday faithfulness. While gentle in pace, Gilead is spiritually rich and rewards patient, reflective reading. This book is highly recommended for pastors, contemplative readers, and anyone interested in the inner life of faith and the quiet beauty of a well-lived life before God.

✍️ Quote of the Week That Makes You Think

“We must realize that the Reformation world view leads in the direction of government freedom. But the humanist world view with inevitable certainty leads in the direction of statism. This is so because humanists, having no god, must put something at the center, and it is inevitably society, government, or the state.” ― Francis A. Schaeffer

Love is not an optional trait for Christians—it is essential. God calls us to reflect His love in everyday relationships. When love leads, our actions gain eternal meaning. May our lives point others to the love of Christ.
