5 Things- Learning While Leading: Tension is Part of Life.

Introduction

A long obedience in the same direction.

Hello leaders.
Here is this week's round-up of the things I have been learning as I try to follow Jesus while helping others do the same.

ONE Thing I'm Learning While Following Jesus from the Leadership Chair.

There is often a tension between what we want to do and what is actually possible. We all have dreams and desires from the Lord. However, there is a process to accomplish anything we want to accomplish. The process usually involves pain. Everything of value is uphill in life. God calls us to carry our Cross. This is a warning that living for Him is not always going to be easy. It is in the hard things that we can see His grace shine.

ONE Scripture I'm Processing.

(Micah 7:7 ) But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.

God always hears us. I've heard people say they feel like their prayers are only getting to the ceiling. That's far enough.

ONE Thing to Try This Week.

Try this: I read somewhere that silence and boredom are the catalysts for creativity. I'm trying to cultivate 10 minutes of silence in my day. I'm thinking of it like exercise, and each set of 10 minutes is like reps. Give it a try and let me know how it goes. Do you have moments of creativity when you do?

ONE Thing Worth Your Time.

WATCH: John Lennox Interview.
Professor John Lennox is possibly my favorite living Apologist. He has an amazing story of teaching God's Word for many years. This is a great blessing. I'm reading his autobiography right now.

ONE Question/Thought For Our Spiritual Formation

God does not love us for what we can offer Him. He loves us simply because we are His.

Keep learning. Keep leading. Keep following Jesus.
