Hello friends. Happy Saturday!
As we reflect on Easter, Genesis 22 gives us one of the clearest pictures of sacrificial faith in the Old Testament. Abraham is asked to trust God in a way that stretches everything he believes. This chapter points forward to a greater sacrifice that God Himself would provide. It reminds us that real faith is revealed when it is tested.

📚 Scripture. 💪

Genesis 22:8-12 (NLT)
“God will provide a sheep for the burnt offering, my son,” Abraham answered. And they both walked on together.
9 When they arrived at the place where God had told him to go, Abraham built an altar and arranged the wood on it. Then he tied his son, Isaac, and laid him on the altar on top of the wood. 10 And Abraham picked up the knife to kill his son as a sacrifice. 11 At that moment the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!”
“Yes,” Abraham replied. “Here I am!”
12 “Don’t lay a hand on the boy!” the angel said. “Do not hurt him in any way, for now I know that you truly fear God. You have not withheld from me even your son, your only son.”

Observation: God sometimes tests faith to reveal what is truly in our hearts. Abraham’s obedience shows trust beyond understanding. His statement that God would provide reveals deep confidence in God’s character. The provision of the ram points to God as the ultimate provider. This story foreshadows Christ as the substitute sacrifice. Faith is not proven in comfort but in surrender.

Application: Trust God with what matters most to you, believing He is both good and faithful.

Prayer: Thank You, Jesus, for being the ultimate provision for my greatest need. Help me trust You fully, even when obedience is difficult and costly.

Did Jesus Fulfill 300 Old Testament Prophecies?
Question: “Pastor, recently you said that Jesus fulfilled over 300 prophecies in the OT. Can you provide more info?” Answer: Of course! Let’s talk about it. One of the great joys of the Christian faith is knowing that what we believe is not built on wishful thinking or spiritual

📣 Sermon/Testimony. Take Control of Your Thoughts. (Charles Stanley) In this message, Stanley focuses on trusting God even when life feels uncertain or unclear. He teaches that faith grows when we rely on God’s character rather than our circumstances. The sermon encourages believers to surrender control and rest in the confidence that God is always working behind the scenes for His purposes.

🤔 Apologetics. Why I Am A Christian? (John Lennox) Listen to my favorite apologist discuss his reasons for being a Christian.

✍️ Deeper Study. The Substitutionary Atonement of Our Lord Jesus Christ. (David Gooding) This theological foundation is under fire in recent days. Dr. Gooding speaks about the reality of Christ taking on our suffering and ultimate salvation.

📚 Book Recommendation. Rest: Why You Get More Done When You Work Less. (Alex Soojung-Kim Pang) This book challenges the cultural belief that constant busyness leads to greater productivity. It shows that intentional rest actually fuels deeper work, creativity, and long-term effectiveness. For Christians, it reinforces the biblical principle of Sabbath and trusting God rather than striving endlessly. It is a helpful reset for anyone feeling burned out or overwhelmed. (I will admit to having been really convinced by this book. I have not yet put much of it into practice, but I want to begin the process of finding healthy boundaries.)

🤪 Meme of the week

God never wastes a test of faith. Abraham’s story reminds us that obedience often precedes understanding. What we place in God’s hands is never truly lost. In the end, we discover that God is not taking from us—He is revealing Himself to us.
