Hello friends. Happy Saturday!
Summer often reveals what is healthy and what is drying up. Psalm 1 paints a picture of two different ways to live—one rooted in God and one drifting away from Him. The psalm reminds us that what shapes our minds eventually shapes our lives. A life grounded in God’s Word becomes steady, fruitful, and strong.

📚 Scripture. 💪
Psalm 1:1–3
“Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked… But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season.”
Observation: The psalm begins by showing that influence matters deeply. What we consistently listen to shapes the direction of our lives. The blessed person delights in God’s Word rather than merely tolerating it. Meditation on Scripture creates stability and spiritual nourishment. The image of a tree by water reflects strength, health, and consistency. This chapter reminds us that lasting fruitfulness comes from deep roots in God.
Application: Spend intentional time in God’s Word daily so your life stays spiritually rooted and healthy.
Prayer: Thank You, Jesus, for giving me truth that strengthens and nourishes my soul. Help me stay rooted in Your Word and bear fruit that honors You.

📚 Book Recommendation. The Way of Excellence. (Brad Stulberg) Whether you are practicing guitar, pushing your limits at the gym, leading a team, honing a craft, studying medicine, or giving yourself the time and space to finally write that book, the pursuit of excellence is a big part of what makes life worth living—and it is for all of us. Unlike "pseudo-excellence," which is about hustle culture and hacks, genuine excellence is about challenging yourself in worthwhile endeavors, focusing on what matters most, and expressing the unique qualities that make you who you are. Too often, we get caught up in convenience and distraction to the detriment of our true potential. The good news is that we can set ourselves on a better path, one that includes more aliveness and resonance, more connection to self and others.
