Hello friends. Happy Saturday!
As we celebrate Independence Day weekend, 1 Thessalonians 1 reminds us of a greater freedom found in Christ. The gospel transformed the Thessalonian believers so deeply that their faith became known everywhere. Their lives became evidence of God’s power at work within them. This chapter challenges us to live in a way that points others toward Jesus.

📚 Scripture. 💪

1 Thessalonians 1:6–8
“So you received the message with joy from the Holy Spirit in spite of the severe suffering it brought you. In this way, you imitated both us and the Lord. As a result, you have become an example to all the believers… And now the word of the Lord is ringing out from you to people everywhere.”

Observation: The Thessalonian church experienced hardship almost immediately after believing in Christ. Yet their suffering did not silence their faith. Instead, their joy and perseverance became a testimony to others. Genuine faith naturally influences the people around us. Paul celebrates not only what they believed but also how they lived. This chapter reminds us that transformed lives become powerful witnesses.

Application: Live your faith openly this week so others can see the hope of Christ in you.

Prayer: Thank You, Jesus, for giving me a faith worth sharing with others. Help my life reflect Your goodness in a way that encourages people around me.

The Holy Spirit 🕊️
Question: Who/What is the Holy Spirit? Answer: Simply put: He is God. There is no way we can put all of God into a single blog post, but we can start a conversation. Let’s get into it. (These are the notes from a session at RLC on the topic

📣 Sermon/Testimony. Who Cares? (H.B. Charles Jr.)
This sermon explores God’s compassion and care for people in seasons of loneliness and hardship. H.B. Charles Jr. explains that even when others fail us, God faithfully hears and responds to our cries. The message points believers toward hope and confidence in God’s loving attention.

🤔 Apologetics. Mormonism in a Nutshell.
A concise overview comparing Mormon beliefs with historic biblical Christianity. The sermon highlights major theological differences and encourages discernment through Scripture.

🧠 Mental Health. Battle for the Mind. (Freedom in Christ- Neil Anderson)
Anderson discusses the spiritual battle that takes place in the believer’s mind. He explains how confusion, accusation, fear, and deceptive thoughts can be confronted through biblical truth and submission to Christ.

✍️ Deeper Study. From Genesis to Jesus. Schreiner demonstrates how the themes introduced in Genesis develop throughout the Bible and ultimately find fulfillment in Christ. This lesson helps listeners connect foundational Old Testament themes to the Gospel message.

📚 Book Recommendation. Systematic Theology. (Norman Geisler) This theology set helps Christians understand how the major doctrines of the Bible fit together into a coherent worldview. Geisler combines deep scholarship with a strong commitment to biblical authority and apologetics. It is especially valuable for believers who want to move beyond surface-level Christianity and develop a stronger foundation for defending their faith. Reading this work strengthens confidence in Scripture, theology, and the rational truth of Christianity.

✍️ Quote of the Week That Makes You Think

“Feelings are great servants but terrible masters. They can alert us to what is happening inside us, but they should never be allowed to define ultimate reality.”
— Tim Keller
