🎧 My Favorite BibleBreakdown Episode This Week>>>

My favorite episode this week: 1 Kings 17:13-14

πŸ“š Scripture. πŸ’ͺ

(1 Kings 17:13-14) But Elijah said to her, β€œDon’t be afraid! Go ahead and do just what you’ve said, but make a little bread for me first. Then use what’s left to prepare a meal for yourself and your son. 14 For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: There will always be flour and olive oil left in your containers until the time when the Lord sends rain and the crops grow again!”

Observation: God often seems strange to us. In the story of Elijah and the poor widow, it seems odd that God would instruct Elijah to do it that way. You would think Elijah would have taken care of the widow first. However, God told him to do it in a way we might consider backward. God’s ways often seem backward. This is not because He is backward; we are. When we trust God’s ways, despite how strange they sometimes seem, we find it was great wisdom all along.

Application: Trust God’s Word. It always pays off.

Prayer: Thank You for leading me even when I don’t understand.
