*This weekly newsletter will share about the Bible Breakdown podcast, things about RLC, and my favorite things from around the web. My prayer is it will help you know God better.
Hello friends. Happy Saturday!
Summer often becomes noisy and busy, but Exodus 19 invites us to pause and remember who God is. Israel arrives at Mount Sinai and prepares for an encounter with the living God. The chapter is filled with awe, reverence, and the reminder that God is holy beyond our imagination. Yet at the same time, He still desires a relationship with His people.

📚 Scripture. 💪
Exodus 19:4–6
“‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians. You know how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me. And you will be my kingdom of priests, my holy nation.’”
Observation: God reminds Israel that their relationship with Him began with grace and rescue. He carried them before He commanded them. The language of being His “special treasure” reveals how deeply God values His people. Holiness is not about earning God’s love but responding to it. The mountain imagery emphasizes both God’s greatness and His nearness. This chapter calls believers to live differently because they belong to Him.
Application: Live this week, remembering that you belong to God and are called to reflect His holiness.
Prayer: Thank You, Jesus, for bringing me close to You through grace and not performance. Help me live as someone who belongs fully to You.

Nouwen writes with warmth and vulnerability about what it means to live as someone deeply loved by God. The book is especially valuable for believers struggling with anxiety, insecurity, or burnout because it calls readers back to resting in God’s love. Its reflective style encourages slower, deeper spiritual formation in a hurried world.
✍️ Quote of the Week That Makes You Think
