Introduction

*This weekly newsletter will share about the Bible Breakdown podcast, things about RLC, and my favorite things from around the web. My prayer is it will help you know God better.

Hello friends. Happy Saturday!
October has a way of making us slow down and notice the beauty of creation around us. Psalm 95 takes that sense of wonder and points it toward the One who created it all. The psalm invites God’s people to sing, celebrate, bow down, and listen to His voice. Worship begins when we remember how great God is and how completely we belong to Him.

📚 Scripture. 💪

Psalm 95:6 NLT
"Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the LORD our maker.”

Observation: Psalm 95 is an invitation to worship God with joy and humility. The psalmist celebrates God as the great King who holds creation in His hands. Then the tone becomes deeply personal as God is described as our Maker and Shepherd. Worship grows when we remember both the greatness of God and our dependence on Him. Bowing and kneeling are physical pictures of a heart that recognizes God’s authority. Worship also prepares our hearts to hear His voice. A heart filled with worship becomes more sensitive to the One being worshiped. Every day gives us another opportunity to remember who God is and respond to Him.

Application: Take a few minutes this week to worship God without asking Him for anything and simply thank Him for who He is.

Prayer: Thank You, Jesus, for being my Creator, Shepherd, Savior, and King. Give me a heart that worships You with joy, humility, and a willingness to listen when You speak.

My Favorite Book for Teaching How to Read the Bible
Question: Hey PB! What book do you recommend for someone wanting to dig deeper into understanding the Bible? Answer: This is one of my favorite questions. There are so many to choose from, but let’s talk about my favorite, “Reading the Bible for a Change“ by Ray Lubeck. I

📣 Sermon/Testimony. Why I Am a Christian (John Lennox)
John Lennox explains why his Christian faith is grounded in evidence, reason, and the historical reality of Jesus Christ. He thoughtfully addresses some of the biggest questions surrounding God, meaning, science, and the resurrection. This is an excellent message for Christians who want to understand why their faith is intellectually credible and learn how to communicate it to others.

🤔 Apologetics. Frank Turek: Exposing the Cultural War on Truth & Reality.
Frank Turek examines how our culture thinks about truth and explains why logic still matters when evaluating competing ideas. He demonstrates how contradictions can expose weaknesses in arguments and why Christians should learn to think carefully about what they believe. This is a helpful message for anyone who wants to become better equipped to understand and defend a biblical worldview.

🧠 Mental Health. How to Process Emotional Numbness and Dissociation.
Sometimes, prolonged stress, grief, or difficult experiences can leave us feeling emotionally disconnected or numb. This video explains why that can happen and offers practical ways to begin reconnecting with our emotions and physical sensations. It is especially helpful for understanding that emotional health includes learning to recognize what is happening inside us rather than simply ignoring difficult feelings.

📚 Book Recommendation. DiscipleShift. (Jim Putman)
DiscipleShift challenges churches to evaluate success by whether they are actually making disciples who make disciples. The authors describe several shifts churches can make to move discipleship from a program on the calendar toward the center of church culture. It is valuable because it forces ministry leaders to ask whether church activity is actually producing spiritual maturity. For anyone passionate about Jesus' Great Commission, this book can generate important conversations about how a church organizes itself around disciple-making.

🤪 Meme of the Week

Worship has a way of putting life back into perspective. It reminds us that God is bigger than the things consuming our attention. As you enjoy the beauty of this season, allow creation to point your heart toward the Creator. Stop for a moment, remember who He is, and worship Him.
