*This weekly newsletter will share about the Bible Breakdown podcast, things about RLC, and my favorite things from around the web. My prayer is it will help you know God better.

Hello friends. Happy Saturday!
Life doesn’t always unfold neatly, and Genesis 30 proves that God still works in messy situations. Family tension, competition, and striving fill this chapter. Yet in the middle of it all, God continues to advance His plan. This reminds us that God’s faithfulness is not dependent on perfect circumstances.

📚 Scripture. 💪

Genesis 30:22 (NLT)
“Then Jacob became furious with Rachel. “Am I God?” he asked. “He’s the one who has kept you from having children!”

Observation: Human striving often leads to unnecessary conflict. The family dynamic is marked by comparison and competition. God’s plan continues even through imperfect decisions. Blessing does not always come through human effort but through God’s favor. The story shows how people try to control outcomes instead of trusting God. Yet God remains faithful in the middle of the chaos.

Application: Stop striving for control and trust God to work in your situation, even when it feels messy.

Prayer: Thank You, Jesus, that You are faithful even when my life feels complicated and uncertain. Teach me to trust You instead of striving, knowing that You are always at work.

📣 Sermon/Testimony. Where To Turn In Time of Need. (Charles Stanley) This sermon emphasizes that every person has needs—physical, emotional, and spiritual—and that God is the ultimate source for all of them. Stanley teaches that instead of turning first to people or circumstances, believers should develop the habit of turning to God in prayer and trust. He reminds us that God not only sees our needs but is both willing and able to meet them according to His perfect will.

📚 Book Recommendation. Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals. (Oliver Burkeman) This book reframes time management by reminding us that our lives are short and finite—about 4,000 weeks on average. Instead of trying to do everything, it encourages focusing on what truly matters. For Christians, this aligns with living with an eternal perspective and stewarding time wisely. It helps readers slow down, prioritize what matters most, and live more intentionally.
