Hello friends. Happy Saturday!
October brings changing leaves, cooler mornings, and the reminder that seasons never stay the same forever. Psalm 83 comes from a season when God’s people were surrounded by enemies and desperately needed Him to act. Sometimes our own circumstances can leave us wondering why God seems quiet when we need Him most. This psalm reminds us that even when God seems silent, He is still sovereign.

📚 Scripture. 💪

Psalm 83:18
“Then they will learn that you alone are called the LORD, that you alone are the Most High, supreme over all the earth.”

Observation: Psalm 83 begins with an urgent request for God to speak and act. God’s people are surrounded by enemies who want to see them destroyed. The situation feels overwhelming because the opposition seems to be coming from every direction. Yet the psalmist remembers that no enemy is greater than the God who rules over everything. His prayer eventually becomes about something larger than simply escaping trouble. He wants the nations to recognize who God really is. Difficult circumstances can become opportunities for God’s power and character to be revealed. When we cannot see what God is doing, we can still trust who God is.

Application: When a situation feels beyond your control this week, remind yourself that God is still the Most High over everything you are facing.

Prayer: Thank You, Jesus, that You are greater than every problem, enemy, and circumstance I will ever face. Help me trust Your authority even during seasons when I cannot see what You are doing.

📚 Book Recommendation. The Coaching Habit. (Michael Bungay Stanier)
The Coaching Habit teaches leaders to resist immediately giving advice and instead learn to ask better questions. Its seven-question framework can be particularly valuable in discipleship, staff leadership, mentoring, and pastoral conversations. It encourages leaders to help people think, discover, and take responsibility rather than becoming dependent on the leader for every answer. For Christian leaders who spend much of their lives helping people grow, this is a practical tool for becoming a better listener and developer of people.

Why are trees so forgiving in October?
Because every year they just let it go. 🍂

🤪 Meme of the Week

There will always be moments when we wish God would move faster. We may even wonder why He seems quiet when the pressure around us keeps growing. Psalm 83 reminds us that God has never surrendered His throne or lost control of our story. Whatever you are facing today, you can trust that the Most High is still at work.
